This weeks begins 5 new Allegiant direct flights

Allegiant Air's launch of commercial service at Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) has profoundly changed the area by transitioning it from a primarily drive-to destination to a more accessible coastal hub.
Allegiant introduced ultra-low-cost, nonstop flights connecting Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to numerous mid-sized cities in the Midwest and South. This week begins service to five new destinations and to celebrate, the company is offering one-way fares on the new routes as low as $40.*
The new routes from Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, Alabama via Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) include:
- Huntsville, Alabama via Huntsville International Airport (HSV) beginning May 21, 2026 with one-way fares as low as $40.*
- Omaha, Nebraska via Eppley Airfield (OMA) beginning May 21, 2026 with one-way fares as low as $67.*
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma via Will Rogers International Airport (OKC) beginning May 22, 2026 with one-way fares as low as $44.*
- Louisville, Kentucky via Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) beginning May 22, 2026 with one-way fares as low as $45.*
- Springfield, Missouri via Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) beginning May 22, 2026 with one-way fares as low as $66.*
(* - Seats and dates are limited and fares are not available on all flights.)
The new flights will operate up to twice weekly. GUF-OKC flights will operate up to three times weekly. Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com.
“We’re excited to kick off the summer travel season with five new nonstop routes from Gulf Shores,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer. “Whether you’re attending a special event, planning a dream vacation, or visiting family and friends, our goal is to connect more travelers to their favorite destinations with Allegiant’s award-winning customer service at unbeatable value.”
This expansion provides residents with new convenient travel options and, more significantly, eliminates the "grueling ritual" of a long drive. Many visitors can now reach the white-sand beaches in about an hour.
The new routes are expected to draw over 60,000 annual passengers, boosting tourism revenue, supporting local businesses, and fueling job creation in hospitality. This success has already spurred development, including a newly opened terminal and the planning of a multi-million dollar terminal expansion to accommodate the growing network of flights.
“I am very excited about the start of these routes as we are about to begin construction on our terminal expansion to support Allegiant’s growing nonstop network in Gulf Shores. The new Huntsville–Gulf Shores route, which is the only intrastate commercial airline route in Alabama, will be a huge win for Alabamians" said Jesse Fosnaugh, Airport Director at Gulf Shores International Airport.
