Baldwin County's Legendary Burris Market Will Not Reopen

News Staff • February 8, 2024

After almost 4 decades Burris Market announces closure

Burris Market Closing

For more that 30 years local Baldwin County residents and tourist heading to the beach have stopped at Burris Market in Loxley. The giant peach or strawberry identified the seasonal specials and generations of families would visit together. Today, via a Facebook post, the ownership team stated they would not be re-opening for the season.

The Burris Family has been farming and running our business here since 1986.  It has been a pleasure to service the local community for all these years.  But it is time to move on.  So, we are not opening up this year.

We have enjoyed farming and providing fresh local fruits and vegetables for all these years.  Also need to thank the customers that have shopped and supported us all these years.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK OUR EMPLOYEES.

We still have our peaches that we should be harvesting in May, please look for us when that happens.

THANK YOU,  GREG, KAY AND DREW BURRIS

We know that many have looked forward to their harvest specials and the post did state they would still be harvesting the peaches this spring. You may want to track the date by following their page HERE.
