Baldwin County Runoff Elections - Your Vote Matters

After district confusion, vote is even more vital on Tuesday

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — This election season has already experienced courts, district confusion and extreme ads. Now the runoff is here and your vote matters. Election officials emphasize that participating in these summer races is an important opportunity to make your voice heard at every stage of the election cycle.
Runoff elections are significant because they determine the final party nominees when no candidate achieves the required vote threshold in the primary election. Because voter turnout is typically lower in runoff elections compared to general or primary elections, every individual vote carries significantly more weight in determining the outcome.
The June 16, 2026, runoff was triggered because multiple county races failed to meet the required vote threshold in the May primary. Baldwin County election officials have not specified which individual races advanced to the runoff. Voters are encouraged to confirm their registration and polling place ahead of Tuesday's election day.
