Vote for local sports bar on National List

Gulf Shores Sports Bar

A sports bar on the water with 30+ televisions, great food and located in the middle of it all? Yes please! The writers at USA Today have compiled a list of 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for the best local sports bar in 2025. One of the sports bars on the list is right in the backyard. Flora-Bama's Ole River Grill has been nominated for their great sports atmosphere, food and constant access to sporting events on their big screens.

Voting in this contest runs daily until Monday, August 18, at noon Eastern Time. The top 10 winners will get announced on Wednesday, August 27. That gives locals plenty of time to show support online. Click here to vote for the Flora-Bama Ole River Grill.

The grill offers more than 30 TVs tuned to various games, perfect for catching football or basketball. Diners enjoy dishes like key lime shrimp and Gulf grouper po'boys. Its waterside views add a relaxing touch to the excitement.

This nomination highlights independent spots, no big chains allowed. A panel of travel and food experts selected the 20 nominees from across the country. Flora-Bama joins places like Ferg's in St. Petersburg and Paramount in Birmingham.

For the northern Gulf Coast crowd, this is big news. The bar's location ties into the region's love for outdoor fun and good eats.

Patrons rave about the char-grilled oysters and casual setup. It's a spot where families and friends gather year-round. The contest focuses on atmosphere, food, and seating that keep people coming back.

The expert panel includes writers like Melody Pittman, who knows West Virginia spots well. They value bars that build community.

Voting is simple and free, once per day. Readers decide the winners based on real experiences. This forward approach keeps the awards fresh and fan-driven.

This recognition comes at a good time for the Gulf Coast. As the summer season ends the Flora-Bama sports bar,
Ole River Grill, reminds us that we live in a year-round community of waterfront fun.
