Joe Freeman says "You will see me on the ballots again"

Joe Freeman recently ran for State House District 95

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — Despite a hard-fought campaign that ended in a narrow defeat earlier this summer, Joe Freeman has made it clear that his political journey is far from over. Following the June 16, 2026, runoff election for the Alabama State House District 95 seat, where he secured 47.7% of the vote against incumbent Frances Holk-Jones, Freeman has vowed to return to the ballot in future cycles.

Holk-Jones successfully retained her Republican nomination, capturing 52.3% of the vote. However, Freeman is channeling the support he received during the campaign into a continued effort to challenge the status quo in Alabama politics.

Freeman has faced his share of personal and public challenges, a history he openly acknowledges as part of the resilience he brings to public service. In his reflection on the recent race, he referenced navigating the personal hardships of a bankruptcy during the 2009 housing crisis and being falsely accused of domestic violence. He characterizes these experiences as events that have taught him to provide grace, even while remaining steadfast in his convictions.

Addressing his supporters directly, Freeman expressed gratitude for the base that fueled his campaign. "To the 48% of voters who voted for me, you are the fire that drives me," Freeman said.

As he prepares for the future, Freeman dismissed the criticism he encountered from opponents and detractors during the election. "I heard you and expect you will come out of the crevices of your keyboards once again," he stated, signaling his readiness for continued public scrutiny as he plots his next move in the political arena.
