Gulf Coast Balloon Festival Poster Contest: Must Be Original and Not AI Generated

News Staff • July 16, 2025

Designs must be original and include Foley, Alabama, and the event year

Gulf Shores event news

The 22nd Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival is calling on local artists to help bring the 2026 event to life. The South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce has launched a contest to find original artwork that can be used on the festival's official poster and t-shirt. Artists from the Gulf Coast and beyond are invited to share their creative talents for a chance to win $500. The selected piece will represent the popular event held yearly in Foley.

Submissions are due by Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Artists may enter up to three original designs for consideration. Pieces must reflect the festival’s themes: hot air balloons, art, music, and the Gulf Coast. The design should include the text “22nd Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival,” the year 2026, and feature Foley, AL.

The final artwork must be entirely original and created by hand—AI-generated art is not allowed. The selected piece will become the sole property of the festival and the Chamber, and may be used for promotional purposes without further payment. Artists must agree to these terms before submitting.

If selected, the winning artist will receive a one-time $500 commission. The final version of the poster will be no larger than 18 inches wide by 24 inches tall. Posters and t-shirts with the design will be displayed and sold at the 2026 event.

Participants can mail their entries to P.O. Box 1117, Foley, AL 36536, or deliver them in person to the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce at 200 N Alston Street in Foley. Artists may also contact the Chamber with questions before submitting.

Those wishing to enter should reach out to Rachel Spear, the Director of Events for the South Baldwin Chamber. She can be reached at (251) 943-5550 or by email at

The Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival draws thousands of visitors each year, known for its colorful balloons, live music, and community atmosphere. With this call for artists, the festival continues to celebrate local creativity and talent.
