Foley, Ala. — (GSN) — The Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival is set to return to OWA Parks & Resort, promising to fill the Foley skies with vibrant color. This annual event is a growing festival that combines the spectacle of hot-air balloons with live music and family-friendly activities, providing entertainment for visitors of all ages.

The 22nd Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival is scheduled for April 30 through May 2, 2026, at OWA Parks & Resort. Admission to the festival is free for all visitors. Balloon activities, including glows and rides, are weather-dependent for safety. Organizers encourage guests to check schedules in advance.

The festival kicks off on Thursday, April 30th, with gates open from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This opening night sets the stage for the weekend, featuring live music from artists like Yeah Probably and Justin Jeansonne. A balloon glow is also planned for 7:30 p.m., subject to suitable weather conditions.

On Friday, May 1, events run from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Visitors can meet animals from the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Live music will feature Shrimp Shack Shooters, Renee Amelia, and The M-80’s. Tethered balloon rides and a glow are planned for the evening.

A new feature will debut at the festival, with a drone show scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights at 9:15 p.m. Hundreds of drones will create synchronized light displays in the sky. Organizers say the show adds a modern touch to the traditional balloon experience. The display is expected to draw large crowds.

The festival concludes on Saturday, May 2, with events running from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Activities include the Disc-Connected K9 Frisbee Dog Shows and a pilot meet-and-greet. Live performances will feature Symone French, JB Dyess Trio, and The Molly Ringwalds. A final balloon glow and drone show will close the event.

Visitors can also explore OWA Parks & Resort attractions during the festival. The property features a 23-ride amusement park, an indoor water park, and Downtown OWA shops and restaurants. A special $19.99 admission to Tropic Falls Theme Park is available Friday evening and all day Saturday. Water park access is sold separately.

OWA Parks & Resort is owned and operated by the Poarch Creek Indians. The destination spans 520 acres and offers entertainment, dining, and lodging. Organizers say the festival highlights both traditional ballooning and new attractions.
