Gulf Shores Earth Day

Earth Day is observed annually on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. In 2026, Earth Day falls on a Wednesday. To mark the occasion the City of Gulf Shores will hold several events educating about, and celebrating the local environment.


The Gulf Shores Recreation & Cultural Affairs department invites the community to enjoy a week of engaging, educational, and wellnessโ€focused events celebrating the natural beauty of our coastal home.

Kick off the festivities with a familyโ€friendly Storytime all about caring for our environment through interactive stories and activities.

Join a special presentation by Nickie Cobb, Urban Regional Extension Agent with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Her program, “Alabama’s Wonders and How We Can Help,” highlights our state’s natural beauty and offers simple, meaningful ways to protect local ecosystems — plus handsโ€on components!
