Earth Day is observed annually on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. In 2026, Earth Day falls on a Wednesday. To mark the occasion the City of Gulf Shores will hold several events educating about, and celebrating the local environment.
The Gulf Shores Recreation & Cultural Affairs department invites the community to enjoy a week of engaging, educational, and wellnessโfocused events celebrating the natural beauty of our coastal home.

Her program, “Alabama’s Wonders and How We Can Help,” highlights our state’s natural beauty and offers simple, meaningful ways to protect local ecosystems — plus handsโon components!
