Great schools teams in athletics and academics

Gulf Shores, AL. — (GSN) — At the recent Gulf Shores City Council meeting, local leaders highlighted the extraordinary achievements of Gulf Shores High School students, demonstrating excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Leading the athletic triumphs is the undefeated Dolphins football team. Boasting an impressive 9-0 record following a dominant 33-7 victory over Theodore, the team secured the number one seed in 5A Region 1 and is set to host a first-round home playoff game against Ramsey.
Equally impressive are the academic and technical achievements taking place off the field. The high school's two-year-old cybersecurity team is currently ranked in the top 500 out of roughly 3,000 teams nationally in the CyberPatriots competition—placing them in the top 18% nationwide and sixth overall in Alabama.
To support these high-tech ambitions, Gulf Shores High School and Baldwin County are investing in new state-of-the-art labs and training facilities. These additions aim to prepare students with future job skills and foster an AI-driven culture in the region. This focus on technological leadership is fitting for Baldwin County, where former Apple CEO Tim Cook grew up (in nearby Robertsdale).
With modern worldwide fiber optic and satellite networks, the future's top business leaders can emerge from anywhere. The hands-on experience and solid foundation these students build in the classroom give them an accelerated growth advantage, setting them up for long-term financial success in a globalized economy.
With robotics and cybersecurity gaining rapid momentum alongside traditional sports, perhaps it's time for weekly news columns and dedicated coverage on ESPN—the Electronic Skills & Performance Network!
