Gulf Shores High School Football Ranked #5 In State

According to Maxpreps for 5A rankings GSHS is #5

Gulf Shores High School Dolphins Football is off to a hot start and currently has a 8-1 record. The team plays in the 5A division of the State and has beaten powerhouses like LeFlore and Murphy in recent weeks.


According to Maxpreps, the 2022 Dolphins are currently ranked #5 in the State of Alabama for Class 5A High School Football. Their only loss for the season was to UMS-Wright, who is ranked #1 in  the State for the same division.


With 5 wins in a row, Gulf Shores take on RAIN (4-5) on the 27th at 7PM.

Gulf Shores Area Sporting News

Plans are moving ahead to open nine city pickleball courts in Foley later this year. The courts will be built on city property north of the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermens Market and east of Koniar Way. The City Council voted Monday, April 15, to approve funding for road construction providing access to the site. The council also approved going out to bid to build the courts.

Publix is continuing its expansion across Alabama with the announcement of a new store opening in Gulf Shores. The new Publix supermarket will be located on Gulf Shores Parkway near Zaxby's, replacing a former Winn-Dixie building. The new store will host a grand opening on April 24th at 7:00am and will occupy a 65,000-square-foot space in the Paradise Isle Shopping Center.
Gulf Shores Bridge

The Beach Express toll bridge, the main artery between Foley and Orange Beach, has recently been the subject of sale discussions with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). The bridge currently owned by the Baldwin County Bridge Company (BCBC), a subsidiary of American Roads LLC, serves as a significant route connecting Pleasure Island to the Alabama mainland, providing an alternative to the State Route 59 bridge.
