Along the waterways of Gulf Shores numerous outlets with docks have opened in recent years. Some of the like LuLu's and Legendary have large boat capacity. Another new outlet slated for the Gulf Shores entertainment district is planned to have dozens of docks so patron can tie up and walk the area.

To manage this expansion and boat traffic the City of Gulf Shores Police Department made the decision to be prepared. This week the GSPD showed off their newest tool. A new 29 foot boat with twin 300hp Verado Mercury engines.

With the capability of reaching speeds over 50mph, the new Shark Defiant boat is made to respond to waterway rule violators and provide safety to the daily boat traffic on the ICW.
