Orange Beach, Ala. — (GSN) — A two-vessel boat crash in the Intracoastal Waterway near the Wharf in Orange Beach resulted in the death of one woman and multiple injuries this past weekend. In total, nine people have been treated for injuries from the accident.

The collision occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, involving a 27-foot 2024 Albury Brothers vessel and a 23-foot 2013 Key West vessel. Following the crash, there was a significant emergency response effort that included the Orange Beach Police Department, Orange Beach Fire Rescue, MedStar Ambulance, and Gulf Shores Fire Rescue, who worked to secure the scene and establish landing zones for a medical helicopter.

Tragically, Kristin Delaney, 46, of Mobile—a passenger on the Albury Brothers vessel—was transported to South Baldwin Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is leading the investigation into the crash. As of now, officials have not released details regarding the cause of the collision or information on potential charges.

This summer season has seen little disturbance in local waters. More law enforcement vessels and clearly identified wake zones are notable differences along the waterway. Boaters are asked to obey local regulations when operating in the coastal Alabama region.
