Children and families can celebrate from March 2 to 7 with a week of stories

Children and families can celebrate Read Across America Week at the Foley Public Library from March 2 to 7 with a week of stories, creativity and reading fun.
Starting at 10 a.m. each day, guest readers from the community will take part in a special storytime. The library will also host craft events during the week. Families are encouraged to take part in hearing engaging stories and hands-on activities designed to inspire a love of reading.
Throughout the week, children can participate in Dr. Seuss–inspired dress-up days, adding extra fun and creativity to the celebration. Participants can also take part in the library’s Bookmark Challenge, giving young readers another opportunity to show off their imagination and love for books.
The library is also bringing back the popular Reader Zone Reading Challenge. Children who log 20 minutes of reading each day will receive a prize for their efforts, encouraging consistent reading habits and rewarding their dedication.
Anyone wanting more information on Read Across America Week can visit the Foley Public Library’s calendar of events for additional details about daily themes, dress-up days and activities.
