Adult Recess At Gulf Shores Meyer Park

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) —  The City of Gulf Shores Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a brand-new, adults-only outdoor event, Adult Recess, at Meyer Park. The event is part of the city's ongoing celebration of National Park & Recreation Month, observed each July. Participants can expect a fun-filled evening featuring kickball, ultimate frisbee, pickleball, Bocce ball, and other lawn games. The event is open to adults 18 and older only.

Adult Recess is scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2026, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Meyer Park in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The event is free to attend, though some items will be available for purchase on-site.

This is a GREAT time to catch up with friends and even organize your BFFs to stop by for for an after work session. Come kick-off the weekend at Meyer Park.

Local food trucks will be on hand throughout the evening, offering attendees a chance to grab a meal before or between games. Adult beverages will also be available for purchase on-site, provided by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. Guests who are not interested in competing in games are still encouraged to come out, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. The evening is designed to give adults a chance to unwind and connect with their community in a playful setting.

Gulf Shores Parks and Recreation officials say the event is a new addition to the city's Park & Recreation Month calendar. The department has been rolling out a series of events and activities throughout July to mark the national observance. Adult Recess is among the new offerings added to the lineup this year.

Residents seeking more information about Adult Recess or other Park & Recreation Month events can visit the city's website at
