Baldwin County Runoff Elections - Your Vote Matters

After district confusion, vote is even more vital on Tuesday

Baldwin County Elections Tuesday June 16

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — This election season has already experienced courts, district confusion and extreme ads. Now the runoff is here and your vote matters. Election officials emphasize that participating in these summer races is an important opportunity to make your voice heard at every stage of the election cycle.

Runoff elections are significant because they determine the final party nominees when no candidate achieves the required vote threshold in the primary election. Because voter turnout is typically lower in runoff elections compared to general or primary elections, every individual vote carries significantly more weight in determining the outcome.

The June 16, 2026, runoff was triggered because multiple county races failed to meet the required vote threshold in the May primary. Baldwin County election officials have not specified which individual races advanced to the runoff. Voters are encouraged to confirm their registration and polling place ahead of Tuesday's election day.

SAMPLE BALLOT BELOW:

The polling locations for Gulf Shores' residents living north of the Intracoastal Canal Bridge is the Cultural Center located at 19470 Oak Rd West (County Road 6) and residents living south of the Intracoastal Canal Bridge is the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center located at 1930 West 2nd Street (behind City Hall). For the General Election, some residents may vote at Saint Andrews by the Sea Church.  Polls are open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Orange Beach residents are assigned to vote at the Orange Beach Event Center, 4671 Wharf Parkway West. Ono Island residents will cast their ballots at The Harriett Cockrell Center, 31692 Dolphin Drive.

"Elections belong to the people. It's their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters."
- Abraham Lincoln
