South Baldwin Regional Medical Center has expanded its capacity with the addition of a 185,000-square-foot facility to its campus in Foley. The facility is expected to open later this month and is part of the hospital’s rebranding to Baldwin Health.

Margaret Roley, CEO of Baldwin Health, said the rebranding reflects the health system's evolution. “We’ve operated as a healthcare system for some time now, and we’re excited to move forward with a name that truly reflects our services and the communities we serve,” Roley said.

Baldwin Health now operates more than 25 locations across Baldwin County, including ten new South Baldwin Medical Group locations opened in the last three years, adding services such as neurospine care.

South Baldwin Medical Group, with more than 70 physicians, will also change its name to Baldwin Health Medical Group. Roley emphasized that quality care remains the top priority despite the new name.

“While our name is changing, our unwavering purpose of helping people get well and live healthier lives remains the same,” Roley said.

The hospital's expansion will provide new surgical facilities, including an outpatient surgery center, space for more high-acuity intensive care patients, a women's and children's unit, and additional inpatient beds. The new facilities are set to open by the end of October.
