Blue Angels Airshow In Pensacola

Pensacola, Fla. — (GSN) — This summer, the skies over the Gulf of America will host a historic tribute to aviation history and American legacy. The 2026 Pensacola Beach Air Show, returning from July 15 to July 18, 2026, promises to be an extraordinary event, carrying special significance as it marks the 80th anniversary of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels while simultaneously celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

For eight decades, the Blue Angels have served as ambassadors for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, embodying a commitment to mission, teamwork, and professionalism. Formed in 1946, the squadron continues to inspire public interest in military service and showcase the pinnacle of naval aviation precision. As the team celebrates this milestone anniversary, they are highlighting the backbone of modern naval aviation—the combat-proven F/A-18 Super Hornet—alongside the Marine Corps' C-130J Super Hercules.

The air show is more than a single day of performance; it is a week-long celebration hosted by the Santa Rosa Island Authority. Fans are encouraged to plan ahead, as the event typically draws massive crowds to the Pensacola Beach area.

Air Show Week Schedule:

  • Wednesday, July 15: “Breakfast with the Blues” begins around 7:30 a.m., as the Blue Angels mark their flight paths by circling overhead.
  • Thursday, July 16: Practice flight session takes place over the water at 2 p.m.
  • Friday, July 17: The Full Dress Rehearsal features demonstrations beginning at approximately 10:30 a.m., with the Blue Angels scheduled to fly at 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 18: The Official Pensacola Beach Air Show takes center stage.

With thousands of spectators expected to gather at the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier and Casino Beach, organizers emphasize that early arrival is essential. Admission to the air show is free, and the Santa Rosa Island Authority provides convenient transportation options, including free open-air trolleys and additional bus services, to help manage the anticipated traffic congestion. Many Gulf Shores residents charter local boats and enjoy the show from the water.

The air show remains a cherished hometown tradition for Pensacola and surrounding communities, blending technical mastery with high-energy showmanship. As the Blue Angels perform their precision loops, rolls, and close-formation maneuvers, this year’s demonstration will stand as a profound tribute to eighty years of naval aviation excellence and two and a half centuries of American service and innovation.
