Foley Hires Football Coach With Championship Experience

Led Opelika to first appearance in the 7A State Championship Game

In a move signaling high ambitions for its athletic future, Foley High School officially entered a new chapter on January 7, 2026, with the appointment of Bryan Moore as head football coach. Approved by the Baldwin County Board of Education following an extensive multi-state search, Moore arrives as one of the most decorated program-builders in Alabama high school football.

Moore brings an elite pedigree to the Lions, fresh off a historic 2025 season where he led Opelika High School to its first AHSAA Class 7A state championship appearance since 2016. His tenure at Opelika was defined by a remarkable 10-4 finish in 2025 and a thrilling 31-28 semifinal victory over rival Auburn High.

Over 11 seasons as a head coach, Moore has maintained a dominant 105–28 record (78.9% winning percentage), reaching the postseason in every single season. His track record of success spans multiple classifications:

  • Opelika (7A): 19-7 record and 2025 state runner-up.
  • Hartselle (6A): 38-9 record with two region championships.
  • Jasper (5A): 22-3 record with two undefeated region titles.
  • Eufaula (5A): 26-9 record and three playoff appearances.

Moore replaces Deric Scott, who led the program for six seasons before parting ways with the school in November 2025. Scott finished his tenure with a 28-32 overall record, including a region championship and playoff berth in 2022.

Foley Principal Jessica Webb noted that Moore’s reputation for building disciplined, championship-caliber cultures best aligned with the school's "rich traditions".

In his opening statement, Moore expressed a commitment to the Foley community: "Our goal has always been to win championships and, more importantly, develop championship people".
