Arrest comes after headstone investigation

Timothy Street (Baldwin County Correctional Facility)

Foley, Ala. – (GSN) – Tim Street, the former manager of Pine Rest Funeral Home and Memorial Park, has been arrested and charged with first-degree financial exploitation of the elderly.

The arrest comes three months after an 1819 News investigative report on headstones that were paid for and never delivered. Following the report, more families came forward claiming they were scammed, with some giving cash and never receiving a receipt or a headstone.

Street, who refused to speak with several news outlets at the time, left his job at the funeral home a month later.

A family filed a complaint with the Alabama Board of Funeral Services in January 2026. Gulf Shores News confirmed that an investigation is underway but the Executive Director of the Board of Funeral Services, Charles Perine, stated “we cannot comment any further while the investigation is ongoing.”

Street was licensed through the board for both the Foley cemetery and Pine Crest Funeral Home in Mobile as a funeral director, cremationist and preneed sales agent.

Charging documents state that Street “intentionally and knowingly committed financial exploitation of an elderly person by taking property.” The documents reveal that a $13,000 headstone was never purchased.

Street was booked into the Baldwin County Correctional Center and was released on bond. He is considered innocent until proven guilty.
