Opry House to host awards show in November

Gulf Shores Music News

Sugarcane Jane, a popular Americana duo from Loxley, Alabama, has been nominated for Duo of the Year in the Americana category at the 11th Annual Josie Music Awards. The duo includes Anthony Crawford and Savana Lee. They are known for their soulful harmonies and heartfelt songwriting.

Anthony Crawford is a seasoned American musician, songwriter, and producer whose career spans several decades and genres. He began performing professionally as a teenager, including appearances at Opryland and the Grand Ole Opry. Anthony has written hundreds of songs, some of which have been recorded by artists such as Steve Winwood, Dwight Yoakam, and Kenny Rogers, and he has released multiple solo albums. In addition to his solo work, he co-founded the Americana duo Sugarcane Jane with his wife, Savana Lee, and operates Admiral Bean Studio in Loxley, Alabama, where he continues to produce and mentor other musicians. His versatility on instruments like guitar, bass, mandolin, violin, drums, banjo, piano, and pedal steel, along with his extensive industry experience, has made him a respected figure in both mainstream and independent music circles.

Sugarcane Jane has built a loyal following over the past decade, drawing on their southern roots and blending country and rock influences. Their nomination places them among talented acts from around the world at one of the largest independent music award shows.

The Josie Music Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee. A companion event, the JMA Fest & Conference, will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Belle Air Mansion. Tickets for both events are available now.

The Josie Music Awards is one of the biggest events for independent artists globally. Founded in 2015, the awards honor vocalists, songwriters, producers, and other music professionals. The show recognizes talent across many genres, including country, rock, pop, jazz, blues, and gospel.

Winners and nominees are chosen by a panel of industry professionals, including Grammy winners and record label executives. The Josie Music Awards are known for their supportive and inclusive atmosphere and for celebrating the achievements of musicians outside the major label system.
