Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo Camp

Gulf Shores Event News

Located just 6 miles away from the beaches is one of the area's premiere locations for fun and education. When visitors enter the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo they feel like they have entered a tropical urban oasis filled with intriguing sounds from the rich diversity of exotic animals. Whether it’s the distinctive call from peacocks or chatter from monkeys, you are instantly transported out of life’s hustle and bustle into a peaceful kingdom.

The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is inviting kids to experience a summer of adventure through its 2025 Zoo Camp program. The camp will give young animal lovers a hands-on opportunity to learn about wildlife and conservation.

Zoo Camp is open to children ages 5 to 16. Campers will be grouped by age and will enjoy up-close animal encounters, games, crafts, and educational activities led by trained staff and zookeepers.

The 2025 Zoo Camp sessions will take place from June 9th through July 25th. Camps run Monday through Friday with half-day and full-day options available depending on the age group.

Each week features a different theme, focusing on animal science, conservation, and zookeeper life. Campers will explore topics like endangered species, habitats, and animal care in a fun environment.

Camp registration is now open. Early registration is encouraged, as space is limited and spots fill up quickly. Parents can register their children through the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo’s website.

The zoo is located at 20499 Oak Road East in Gulf Shores. More information about camp themes, prices, and schedules is available at: Zoo Camp - AL Gulf Coast Zoo

As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo relies solely on admissions, memberships, and contributions to remain in business. One of the most meaningful and visible ways to support the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is to become an animal or exhibit sponsor.

Each of our current exhibits can be sponsored to provide care and feeding for that animal for the year. Additional sponsorships are available to help us expand and grow with new exhibits.
