A local store with local farm providers is so close to home

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — Between Foley and Gulf Shores on Hwy. 59, lies a small farmers market store that will bring back those memories when the community farmers and bakers could sell their items direct to locals. No national brands are present, just old fashioned recipes already prepared and packaged for you to take home.
The Farmhouse Market is famously located on the corner of County Road 12 and Hwy 59, on the very south side of Foley. Their small store offers meats, vegetables, desserts and prepared sides from local farms and cooks. Unique finds in the store include:
- Cranberry Chicken Salad
- Crawfish Dip
- Thick-Cut Steaks
- Peach Cobbler
- Homemade Banana Pudding
- Navy Cove Oysters
- Shepherds Pie
- Fresh Farm Picked Vegetables
- Dozens of Portioned, Already Prepared, Southern Foods
The owners change the items at times so make sure to review the wall of coolers for any specialties. If there is something particular you are seeking just ask and they can tell you if and when they carry it.
Freshly cooked breads, and variety of Conecuh sausages and even Amish soaps adorn the store. Don't be in a rush because you might miss that special something you haven't seen in years.
The Farmhouse Market is open seven days a week: Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The market is also planning to expand its features soon to include a commercial kitchen, butcher shop, and specialty olive oils. For more information, the market can be reached at (251) 269-5907.
