Celebrate the charter boats and their crews

ZEKE'S CHARTER BOAT TOURNAMENT

The gulf waters off Orange Beach will once again come alive with competition and camaraderie as the 2025 Annual Charter Boat Billfish Tournament gets underway this week. The tournament is known for celebrating professional charter captains and their crews while highlighting the traditions of offshore fishing. Organizers say the event continues to grow each year, attracting both seasoned anglers and supporters who enjoy the dockside atmosphere. With big fish, live music, and plenty of waterfront celebration, it has become a summer staple for the Alabama Gulf Coast.

The 2025 event takes place August 25–29 in Orange Beach and is open only to licensed charter boats. Captains and crews will have the opportunity to select any two days within the five-day window to head offshore, giving them flexibility based on conditions and strategy. The competitive format ensures that no two tournament days are the same, keeping the field exciting and unpredictable.

Festivities at the weigh-in will feature live music from The Family Union from 6pm to 10pm, creating a lively backdrop as the catches are brought in. An awards ceremony will immediately follow, recognizing top-performing boats and crews with payouts and bragging rights. The evening will also include drink specials, ranging from $2 beers to specialty cocktails.

Tournament organizers emphasize that the event is more than just a competition on the water. The event provides a boost for local businesses while drawing a crowd of fishing enthusiasts eager to watch the action.
