Allegiant Named by The Wall Street Journal as One of the Top U.S. Airlines of 2025

Allegiant placed second overall and earned the highest ranking among value airlines

Allegiant Airlines has been servicing the Gulf Shores community for a short period of time but city leaders seemed to have chosen the ultimate transportation to paradise. In the Wall Street Journal's annual list of top U.S. airlines Allegiant placed second overall and earned the highest ranking among value airlines.
In a press release Allegiant Travel Company stated "Earning a top position on The Wall Street Journal's esteemed list is a testament to Allegiant's appeal and top-notch service to its customers. The airline posted a 99.89% controllable completion rate in 2025, which measures flight completion when disruptions such as weather or air traffic control are excluded, and ranked first in the industry for fewest cancellations. Allegiant is also number one in the industry at handling baggage and did not involuntarily bump a single passenger in 2025.

Headquartered in Las Vegas, Allegiant operates a network of more than 550 nonstop routes, giving leisure travelers simple, affordable access to destinations like Gulf Shores. Allegiant began passenger service to and from Gulf Shores in May of 2025. Allegiant Airlines hubs are located in Las Vegas, Orland and Tampa. Their gates are in over 100 airports, many of which have direct flights to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

In Allegiant's NASDAQ stock report (ALGT), the airline reported preliminary annual passenger traffic results for 2025. The number of passengers for the full system was up 10.3% to a total of 18,737,151.
The new merger with Sun Country Airlines is sure to open the coastal region's tourism to the western U.S. audience.
