America 250 is being celebrated along the coast

America 250 in Baldwin County

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — As warm weather and visitors have arrived it is a reminder that America's 250 celebrations will be taking place throughout Baldwin County and the Alabama beaches. Many local events are taking place, culminating with numerous firework shows on the 4th of July.


Gulf Shores is celebrating America’s 250th birthday (Semiquincentennial) in 2026 with a season of patriotic events, including Freedom Fridays at The Beach Club Resort & Spa featuring fireworks, live music, and themed activities.


The City of Orange Beach will be holding a Patriotic Mailbox Contest. The Orange Beach Garden Club will hold a Great American Mailbox Challenge and encourages everyone in the community to participate in the contest by patriotically decorating your mailbox. Mailboxes need to be decorated between Memorial Day, May 25th and June 14th (Flag Day). A full list of Orange Beach events are located at https://www.orangebeachal.gov/1655/America250Alabama  .


The City of Foley is planting 250 trees throughout 2026, including new oak trees along South Chicago Street, to commemorate the founding of the USA.


The Baldwin County Commission, in partnership with the City of Daphne, invites the public to attend  the America 250 Celebration on Thursday, June 26, 2026, at the Daphne Civic Center. The free community  event will celebrate 250 years of American history, freedom and patriotism with live entertainment.


The Alabama Army National Guard Band selected Baldwin County to host one of the band’s community  performances, across the state, while they are conducting annual drill activities. 


The evening will feature a special performance by the Alabama Army National Guard Band, presenting a  musical journey through American history and patriotic traditions. Guests can also enjoy food trucks,  children’s activities, vendor booths, giveaways, senior activities, pet adoptions and community exhibits. 


The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Daphne Civic Center, located at 2603 U.S.  Highway 98, Daphne, Alabama 36526. Admission is free and open to the public. 


The America 250 Celebration is part of nationwide efforts recognizing the upcoming 250th anniversary of  the founding of the United States in 2026. Gulf Shores News will be posting future events once they are announced.
