As summer begins and the regular school doors close it is time to think about registering children into vacation bible schools. Fortunately there are many choices in the coastal Alabama region but the popular programs will fill up fast.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a popular summer outreach program for children, often hosted by churches. It's typically a week or two-long event focused on faith formation through fun, creative activities centered around the Bible. VBS can include Bible stories, games, crafts, music, and skits, all designed to engage kids in a positive learning environment.

Here are a few of those popular programs that are known to fill up early so make your and register your young one soon:

St. Andrew by the Sea - The event is called WHAT A MESS VBS and promises fun activities with meaningful lessons. Kids will learn how Jesus helps us through our mistakes and weaknesses. The program combines play, creativity, and faith in a welcoming environment.

Gulf Shores Methodist Church - As kids trek the tundra this June, they’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus, True North VBS shows them that he is a faithful friend we can always trust. He’s our True North!

First Baptist Church of Gulf Shores - Join us as we gallop through the West, where our friends at Wonder Junction will teach us about Jesus! Early drop off will begin at 7:30 am. VBS will take place from 8 am-12 pm in the Main Worship Center.

Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church -- Guide kids on the ultimate Alaskan adventure where northern lights glow over majestic mountains, racing rivers, and glistening glaciers. As kids trek the tundra, they’ll explore how easy it is to lose sight of what’s true in our wild world today. Pointing them toward Jesus
