gulf shores food and beverage news

There are many who say that Wine Day is every day at the beach. But May 25 is National Wine Day and we applaud the Greeks who decided to find a use for those healthy grapes.

On May 25 each year, wine lovers everywhere pour a glass of their favorite wine to celebrate National Wine Day. Whether it is red wine, white wine, or a blush, the sound of glassing "clinking" will be heard at restaurant along the water.

Many locals know Winston. If you don't then you should follow him on social media. He is responsible for the many wine tasting we experience along the coast. He famously finds a location and pairs the wine and food. All year long you can follow Winston McQuitery's events and select one for your favorite wines or location of the tasting. Winston works with the Alabama Crown Distributing Company but he really works FOR the coastal wine lovers of Alabama.

Made from fermented grapes or other fruits, wine is an alcoholic beverage that is loved by millions around the world.  There are estimated to be over 10,000 different varieties of wine grapes worldwide. This means there is ample opportunity you will eventually find your favorite. Admittingly, you may have to sample a few before making a final judgement.
