Baldwin County, Ala. - (GSN) - Baldwin County has awarded more than $12 million to 10 infrastructure projects through the Local  Government Recovery Infrastructure Program (LGRIP). The projects will strengthen water, sewer,  drainage, roadway and other public infrastructure throughout Baldwin County that were impacted  by Hurricanes Sally and Zeta. 

“These investments strengthen the infrastructure our communities rely on every day and during  severe weather,” said Commissioner Jeb Ball. “Working with our municipalities and utility  partners, we are thrilled to be investing disaster recovery funds in projects that will make Baldwin  County more resilient and better prepared for future storms.” 

Baldwin County awarded LGRIP funding to the following 10 infrastructure projects: 

2026 Local Government Recovery Infrastructure Program Awards 

● City of Daphne, Randall Avenue Drainage Improvements – $1,581,883 

● City of Robertsdale, Robertsdale Sewer and Drainage Rehabilitation – $800,000 

● Town of Loxley, Loxley Sewer Rehab for Holley Street Lift Station Area – $809,000 

● East Central Baldwin Water Authority, Water Line Installation on Woerner Road, Foley Beach  Express and Kings Landing Road – $1,235,000.00 

● Town of Magnolia Springs, Drainage Improvements – $949,537.98 

● City of Orange Beach, Jubilee Point Road Elevation – $950,000.00 

● North Baldwin Utilities, Westside WWTP Emergency Storage Pond Restoration – $1,000,000.00 

● City of Fairhope, Water Expansion on Fish River – $2,000,000.00 

● Perdido Bay Water, Sewer & Fire District, Operations and Maintenance Facility – $800,000.00 

● City of Bay Minette, Disaster Recovery Project – $2,000,000 

Baldwin County received $43.36 million in CDBG-DR funding from the Alabama Department of  Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) to support long-term recovery from Hurricanes Sally  and Zeta. The County developed its Local Recovery Plan to identify remaining needs and  determine how to invest those funds in housing, infrastructure and other recovery efforts.

As part of  the plan, Baldwin County established LGRIP and allocated $13.36 million to the program for  infrastructure projects led by municipalities and eligible local entities. The U.S. Department of  Housing and Urban Development (HUD) oversees CDBG-DR funding, with ADECA  administering the funds at the state level.
