Baldwin County, Ala. — (GSN) — Baldwin Preparatory Academy has officially commenced its 2026–2027 school year, welcoming 233 incoming 10th-grade students and introducing an expanded lineup of career development programs and industry credentials. The full-time, magnet-like institution aims to seamlessly merge rigorous academic instruction with hands-on, real-world experiences to prepare students for higher education and the local workforce.

This academic year introduces several key enhancements to the curriculum:

• Health Science & Dual Enrollment: In partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College, students can now take Nursing 112. Additionally, a new Pharmacy Technician program has been introduced, allowing participants to earn both college credits and industry-recognized credentials.

• Drone Technology: A newly added Drone Program offers specialized coursework in drone flight, autonomous technology, and sensor data, providing paths toward professional drone licensing and programming careers.

• Cosmetology & Barbering: Starting in September, the school's Cosmetology Program will open to the public every Monday. This initiative allows students to gain valuable, real-world experience working with clients as they prepare for licensing exams.

Operating out of a state-of-the-art, 200,000-square-foot facility, Baldwin Prep emphasizes professional expectations, including industry-specific uniforms, time management, and accountability.

The academy recently celebrated a major milestone, graduating its very first class of students to complete all three years at the academy at the end of the 2025–2026 academic year. During that same year, 564 students participated in dual-enrollment courses, collectively earning 106 industry credentials.

Tomorrow’s Workforce! Career – College – Choice”—underlines their commitment to ensuring graduates leave with the confidence and hands-on experience necessary to succeed in college, technical training, entrepreneurship, or direct entry into the workforce.
