A few things are certain in life; death, taxes and food at southern events along the coast. So why not have an event celebrating the food providers  who are typically on the fringe of each event? This November 8 and 9 the Annual Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival returns to Gulf Shores with plenty of eats and live music from 11am to 5pm.

In this weeks Gulf Shores City Council meeting the Director of Recreation & Cultural Affairs, Grant Brown, informed the city about the event's application to host the festival in Gulf Place. The expected attendance is over 2,000. Area tourism representatives said the festival will be a weekend of craft beer, great food, lawn games and fun for the whole family.

The council approved the event permit unanimously, with one member abstaining.

Food Truck Festivals of America was the organization applying for the permit. The official website for FTFA states that the admission will be FREE.

Owners of FTFA provide food truck festivals around the nation. They state "Our goal is not only to introduce communities across the country to the booming phenomenon of gourmet food trucks, but to support the small business owners who run them."

This will be the fourth year of the Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival and the event footprint map (below) shows minimum impact to local beach access.
