Orange Beach Planning Commission to Discuss Future Docks

Gulf Shores area news

The Orange Beach Planning Commission will meet on April 8 with a work session at 3 p.m. and the regular session at 4 p.m.

One item on the agenda seeks approval for a 26-slip marina on the Intracoastal Waterway at 22321 Canal Road for Bayview Investments an LLC located in Fairhope and incorporated in September of 2023. It’s on the waterway west of Niki’s Restaurant.

During the meeting, the commission will also discuss:

  • A request to repeal two planned unit developments formerly connected to the failed Bama Bayou project east of the toll bridge plaza and rezoning it back to general business. It will also hear a second request from The Wharf Landing for approval of subdivision of the same 105 acres into three lots.

  • Combining two lots in Azalea Village into one lot at 4282 and 4284 Azalea Street for Lisa Burdette.

  • A request from Community Development to modify the language in the code regarding water recreational rentals.

  • A second request from Community Development to modify language regarding requirements for highway frontage on the north side of Canal Road from Oak Street to William Silvers Parkway.

  • Changing the code regarding sign fees to be consistent with an ordinance passed in 2018.

  • Liquid Life’s request to build a 22,100-square-foot operations center on 4404 and 4422 Canal Square Lane the road that runs west of O’Reilly’s Auto Parts

  • A request from Keel Storage to approve a site plan for a 4,500-square-foot storage building at 27103 Canal Road or just east of Sam’s.

  • A request from property owners at 28622 and 28675 Sampson Avenue to relocate the lot line didn’t meet the second deadline and will again be deferred.
