Art Festival Award

The Annual Orange Beach Festival of Art, which took place this past March, has been recognized with one of the highest honors in Alabama tourism. The festival was officially named the 2025 Event of the Year during the Alabama Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The award was announced at a special ceremony attended by leaders from across the state. Organizers and supporters of the event say the recognition reflects years of hard work and dedication to the arts demonstrated by Art Center employees and the many volunteers involved each year.

The award was presented on August 24, 2025, at The Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores. Hundreds of attendees gathered for the annual banquet, where the Orange Beach Festival of Art was recognized for its cultural impact and contribution to Alabama tourism. The honor came as part of the Sweet Home Alabama awards program, which highlights excellence in events, attractions, and hospitality across the state.

Event leaders expressed pride in receiving the recognition, noting that the festival has become a cornerstone of cultural life on the Alabama Gulf Coast. Over the decades, the event has welcomed artists, musicians, and performers, creating opportunities for the community and visitors to experience the arts. Organizers said the award honors past efforts and strengthens momentum for future festivals.

"This show is a labor of love for many dedicated people and the resulting effort is something we are tremendously proud to share in our community. After winning earlier this year the USA Today Readers' Choice as "Best Art Show" in the nation, 2025 is proving to be something truly special for our festival and for our city" said Art Center Director Desiree Hodge.

The Orange Beach Festival of Art has long been known as a celebration of creativity, showcasing fine art, glass, clay, painting, sculpture, and other mediums. The event also features live music, culinary demonstrations, and family-friendly activities, making it a gathering for all ages. The 2025 recognition places the festival among the most influential cultural events in the state.

With the new recognition as Event of the Year, the festival is expected to draw even greater attention when it returns this year.
