Foley is one of America’s communities where the warm holiday feeling of a Hallmark Christmas movie can be felt in reality, according to a recent national web posting.

The website AZ Animals posted its list of “9 Small Towns that Belong in a Hallmark Christmas Movie.”

“What makes those movies so special and magical is the small-town atmosphere and the feeling of belonging. Sure, the big city has some pretty amazing holiday cheer and Christmas festivities. But there’s something about a small town that hits different. With so many quaint places spread across the United States, it’d be easy to find one and have your own Christmas moment,” the post stated.

The listing for Foley includes annual celebrations such as the tree decorating contest, Christmas in the Park and the Graham Creek Christmas Trail.

“This southern Gulf Coast town comes straight out of a Hallmark movie. The small town is teeming with holiday festivities that are bound to keep you on your toes and feeling the Christmas cheer. See the lights draping from the trees throughout Foley, visit vintage shops, and see Santa Claus,” the listing stated.

While Christmas in the Park and the Let It Snow events have been held, the city’s decorations in Heritage Park and surrounding streets will be up until after New Year’s.

The Graham Creek Christmas Trail will continue this weekend. The trail at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve is open from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The preserve is located at 23030 Wolf Bay Drive in Foley.
