Gulf Shores, Ala. — (GSN) — As the new school year is about to start the high school students from Gulf Shores will be stepping into their new building and become part of it's inaugural class. The multi-year construction project is coming to an end and the educational phase begins.

In a press release, Superintendent Dr. Matt Akin invited the public to the school's ribbon-cutting and offered tours of the facility. The full release follows:

Gulf Shores City Schools and the City of Gulf Shores is proud to  announce the grand opening of the new Gulf Shores High School with a ribbon cutting ceremony  scheduled for Monday, August 10 at 11 a.m. This event marks a major milestone in the district’s  mission to provide exceptional learning environments and innovative educational opportunities  for all students. 

The new Gulf Shores High School features state-of-the-art academic facilities, innovative  learning spaces, advanced technology integration, and modern athletic and performing arts  complexes designed to support student achievement and elevate the educational experience. “The  building was thoughtfully designed to be a long-term community asset—one that fosters  collaboration, creativity, and excellence,” said School Board President Kevin Corcoran. 

“This new high school represents our community’s commitment to creating a world-class  educational environment for our students,” said Mayor Robert Craft. “It’s an investment in the  future of Gulf Shores, and we are proud to open a facility that reflects the energy, ambition, and  spirit of our city.” 

Immediately following the ribbon cutting, guided tours of the new high school will be offered to  attendees, giving families and community members an opportunity to walk through the state-of the-art facility. 

In addition to the tours offered on August 10, Gulf Shores High School will host “Tuesday  Tours” every Tuesday throughout the month of August for community members who wish to  explore the campus.
