Maui County Firefighters Receive Support from GSFR Fundraiser After Losing Homes to Fires

Gulf Shores Fire Dept launches fundraiser to support Maui County Firefighters

The recent fires in Hawaii have left a trail of destruction, affecting many residents, including firefighters from the Maui County Fire Department. In response to this tragedy, Gulf Shores Fire & Rescue (GSFR) has teamed up with the Gulf Shores Fire and Rescue Association to launch a fundraising campaign to support the firefighters who have lost their homes to the fires.

The fundraiser features Maui Fire Fundraiser T-Shirts, available for pre-order from now until Sunday, August 20th. The shirts come in both adult and youth sizes and are expected to ship approximately three weeks after the pre-order period ends. All proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go directly to the affected Maui County firefighters.

GSFR expressed their deep sadness at the devastation caused by the fires and their sympathy for all those impacted. They are particularly heartbroken for the firefighters who have lost everything while working tirelessly to combat the flames.

The fires in Hawaii have caused widespread damage, and the support from organizations like GSFR and the GSFR Association is crucial in helping those affected to rebuild their lives.

If you’d like to help the GSFR support their brothers and sisters in Maui, you can order a t-shirt by

Tracking fish with sonar has been available to the public since 1948, when the famous Furuno brothers introduced the product in their native Japan. A 'salty' charter captain might add that it was Lowrance that brought it to the U.S. fishing market. But whomever you credit, NOAA has now combined it with artificial intelligence (AI) to provide better chart mapping and even fish count locations of fish in the gulf. The results could impact local fishing seasons in the future.
