Gulf Shores Concert News

The City of Gulf Shores has announced the 2024 music lineup for the Sunset Series. These free concerts take place on the Town Green at Gulf Place, situated at 101 Gulf Shores Parkway, from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendees can enjoy live music against the beautiful backdrop of white-sand beaches and emerald gulf water at sunset.

The Sunset Series has become a beloved tradition in Gulf Shores, offering a perfect blend of music, community, and natural beauty. Each concert provides a unique experience, showcasing a diverse range of musical talents and genres. The series not only highlights local and regional artists but also brings in nationally recognized performers, ensuring a memorable evening for all attendees. The picturesque setting of Gulf Place, with its stunning sunsets and serene beach atmosphere, creates an ideal backdrop for these events.

Whether you're a long-time resident or a visitor, the Sunset Series is an excellent opportunity to relax, unwind, enjoy good music, and connect with the community. Concert goers are encouraged to bring their family, friends, and lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy these family-friendly events.

The 2024 Sunset Series will feature the following performances:

September 5:
DieDra and the Ruff Pro Band. Known as "The Blues Diva" and "The Alabama Blues Queen," DieDra's powerful voice has been compared to Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle. She has released albums such as "Overcoming Hurdles" and "Livin the Bluz," and has also ventured into screenwriting.

September 12:
M-80s. This band has been performing in the Southeast since 2007, playing popular 80s cover hits. Their shows include music from bands like Journey, Queen, The Go-Go's, Cher, The B-52s, and Def Leppard.

September 19:
The Andrew Weaver Band. Andrew Weaver, a singer-songwriter and producer, gained recognition after his appearance on "American Idol" in 2018. He draws inspiration from acoustic and synth-pop influences and has worked with artists such as Nappy Roots and Pote Baby.

September 26:
Frank Brown Songwriters Showcase. This event previews the Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival and features Wyatt Durrette, Dave Kennedy, and Rob Snyder. Durrette has co-written hits with Zac Brown and Luke Combs, Kennedy is known for his cinematic songwriting, and Snyder has established himself with hits like Luke Combs' "She Got The Best of Me."

"We are excited to continue our Sunset Series," said Grant Brown, City of Gulf Shores Recreation & Cultural Affairs Director. "Our City has put so much effort into making Gulf Place Public Beach a beautiful and relaxing spot for our residents and guests. We are excited to mix that beauty with free entertainment for everyone to enjoy."

The Sunset Series concerts are free to the public. Food trucks will be available for food purchases, and the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber will sell beverages for all ages.
