The Gulf Shores Main Public Beach, in front of the Hangout, is a favorite among visitors, providing convenient amenities such as showers, volleyball courts, and picnic pavilions. Gulf State Park, with its more than three miles of beautiful beaches, offers a serene escape. However, the park's fishing and education pier is currently closed for repairs following damage from Hurricane Sally. The pier is expected to reopen in the fall.

Gulf Shores' sparkling quartz-grain sand and emerald waters are significant draws, but the city offers much more.
