Gulf Shores Thanksgiving Schedule

Residents in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and Foley will see changes to city office hours and sanitation services during the Thanksgiving holiday week. Each city has adjusted garbage, recycling and debris pickup schedules around the Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, observance. Officials are urging residents to review the modified routes and have carts, debris and bulky items out early to avoid missed service.


In Orange Beach, non-essential city offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, with regular business hours resuming Monday, December 1. Gulf Shores and Foley will also shift garbage, recycling and debris pickups ahead of the holiday, with some routes moved up earlier in the week and others consolidated into single collection days. Yard debris and bulky-item services will run on adjusted schedules, and residents are asked to have materials at the curb by the specified dates and times.


City of Gulf Shores

Garbage and Recycling Pickup: Republic Services Garbage and Recycling pickup will not run on Thursday, November 27.

Crews will pick up Thursday’s trash and recycling on Friday, November 28.

The City of Gulf Shores Recycling Center will remain open for drop-offs.


Yard Debris/Bulky Items Pickup: Yard debris/bulky pickup will not run on Thursday, November 27, or Friday, November 28.

Crews will pick up Thursday and Friday’s debris between Monday, November 24, and Wednesday, November 26. Please have all yard debris/bulky items ready by Sunday, November 23.

City of Orange Beach
 

Non-essential City of Orange Beach offices will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and Friday November 28th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.


Concerning trash pickup during the holiday week, the usual Friday residential routes will run on Saturday. Everything else will run as normal. 


Regular business hours will resume on Monday, December 1st.


City of Foley

Thanksgiving Public Works office will be closed Thursday & Friday, Nov. 27 & 28, 2025

Tuesday & Thursday garbage/recycle will be picked up on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Wednesday & Friday garbage/recycle will be picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Limbs/Yard debris/Bulk will start back where we left off before the holiday. Please be patient as these routes may run behind all week until we are caught up.

Reminder: ALL ROUTES START AT 6 a.m.

Hot Shot service is limited on holiday weeks, be sure to have your items out on time!
