Local Retailer Paying Up To $24 Per Hour For Holiday Season

Seasonal pay in the area is rising

Looking for a seasonal job opportunity? Several retail and grocery business have announced they will be hiring for the shopping season. One national business doing so has a location in the heart of Gulf Shores.


This week Target announced they will be adding 100,000 new members for the holiday shopping season. With Team Target's already 400,000 nationwide staff, they are looking to add to supply chain and store facility members.


In a press release this week Target made the hiring announcement. The business stated "We look forward to welcoming seasonal hires to Team Target, enabling us to continue building the best team in retail. Many seasonal team members — including more than half of last year’s — are offered an opportunity to stay with Target following the holiday season and continue spreading everyday joy to our guests year-round."


So how does Target decide how many to hire for the season? According to the press release, " We first offer our current team members opportunities to work additional hours, if desired. We also leverage the On Demand team in our stores — a flexible workforce that includes nearly 45,000 team members — who have the option to pick up shifts on an as-desired basis to fit their schedule. This strategy allows us to provide guests with an experienced, engaged and more stable workforce that is well equipped to deliver an exceptional guest experience throughout the holiday season."

A 'salty' charter captain might add that it was Lowrance that brought it to the U.S. fishing market. It’s Saturday morning, the second day of the 6A Section 1 Track Meet at Saraland High School. Coach Brewer has piloted the Dolphins bus to this place several times this season, but today a thick, milky fog has engulfed the panorama, limiting the vision of what’s ahead, save for head coach Jason Hill. He’s studied today’s upcoming events and is hopeful for the upset.

A decorated urn containing human ashes washed up on Gulf Shores beach this past week, starting a mystery that local police have now solved. The container was discovered by people walking along the shore on West Beach on April 17. The urn had no name or identification on the outside.
