Orange Beach, Ala. — (GSN) — Expect Excellence Performing Arts is holding auditions for its upcoming production of Disney and Pixar's Finding Nemo, a 60-minute family musical presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Directed by Jacob Morris, the production is open to local performers in grades 3 through 12 as well as senior citizens. Designed to welcome actors of all experience levels with no prior stage background required, the production offers a unique opportunity for families and community members to share the stage together.

Rehearsals are scheduled to begin in December 2026, leading up to public performances running from February 26 through March 7, 2027, as well as school field trip performances on February 25, 2027.

This upcoming production builds on a strong tradition established by Expect Excellence Community Theater and the City of Orange Beach of bringing major national titles and beloved family classics to the Alabama Gulf Coast using local talent. Over the years, productions such as Disney's The Lion King Jr., Willy Wonka, and The Addams Family have highlighted the dedication of local students, youth, and adult actors. By connecting resident performers with experienced directors and educators, the program provides high-quality theatrical experiences powered by the community.

The show will take place at the modern Orange Beach Performing Arts Center, located on the campus of Orange Beach Middle and High School. Opened in September 2021 as part of an $11 million cooperative partnership between the City of Orange Beach and Baldwin County Schools, the 35,000-square-foot facility provides a professional performance environment for students and residents alike. The center comfortably seats 710 guests in its main stage auditorium—equipped with state-of-the-art acoustics and an orchestra pit—and also features a black box theater seating up to 175 to 200 audience members for more intimate performances.
