LOL (Love Our Locals) Festival Kicks Off

Before the summer season starts it is time to honor the locals. The Gulf Shores & Orange Beach community will be celebrating this weekend at the inaugural L.O.L. Festival (Love Our Locals). The Festival kicks off today at the Gulf State Park’s Lake Shelby Picnic Area. This three-day event is dedicated to honoring local artists, musicians, food vendors, and businesses that make the coastal community thrive.


The festival runs from March 28 to March 30, offering various activities, performances, and showcases for all ages.


Festival Highlights Include:


  • Diverse Musical Performances: Attendees can look forward to an eclectic mix of genres, including country, classic rock, pop, funk, soul, R&B, and jazz. The festival promises a rich musical experience with a VIP section offering prime viewing near the stage.

  • Artistic Showcases: Local artists will display various artworks, providing a platform for creative expression and community engagement.

  • Culinary Delights: A selection of food vendors will serve up local flavors, ensuring festival-goers have a taste of the region's culinary offerings.

  • Family-Friendly Activities: Designed with the whole family in mind, the festival includes activities and entertainment suitable for all ages.

  • Friday, March 28: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

  • Saturday, March 29: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

  • Sunday, March 30: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Ticket Information:


  • Single Day – General Admission: $30.00

  • Single Day – VIP Access: $65.00

  • 3-Day General Admission: $75.00 (with a $5 Early Bird Purchase Discount)

  • 3-Day VIP Access: $175.00

Children aged 5 and under enjoy free admission. Tickets can be purchased through the festival's official website.

The Orange Beach Billfish Classic is celebrating its 29th year as a premier Gulf Coast fishing tournament. The event draws skilled anglers competing for more than $1 million in prize money. It will be held at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama. Organizers expect a strong turnout of fishing teams this year.

After years of construction and much debate, the first section of the new ICW bridge is about to open. Traffic will shift on State Route 180 (Canal Road) in Baldwin County as part of the new Intracoastal Waterway Bridge project. A new roundabout and a section of newly built Canal Road will now carry traffic.
