According to Hotel Business, an Alabama-based investor group has purchased Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach. The new owners say the popular Gulf Coast property will remain under local leadership. They also say they are committed to its long-term future. The resort has served families from across the Southeast for decades.

The buyer group includes Perdido Hotel Partners, an affiliate of Aurora Hospitality Partners, which includes Terry and Nick Saban, Joe Agresti and a small group of investors. The resort is located in Orange Beach and has been a well-known destination for nearly forty years.

Perdido Beach Resort features 344 guestrooms, giving it room to host both vacationers and group events. The property includes indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and 5,000 square feet of meeting space. Those facilities allow the resort to serve family travelers, business meetings and special events.

Aurora Hospitality Partners will manage the resort under the new ownership. Company leaders said they plan to maintain the property’s legacy while also refining the guest experience. They described their goal as improving the stay for visitors without changing what makes the resort special to longtime guests.

“We could not be more honored to steward a place that means so much to so many families across our state,” said Blair Plott, cofounder of Aurora Hospitality Partners. Plott said the new owners see the resort as an important part of Alabama’s coast and its tourism economy.

“It means a great deal to us that Perdido Beach Resort will move forward under the leadership of Alabamians who believe in the future of this community,” Plott said. He added that the group wants the resort to continue welcoming guests who have visited for years, as well as new visitors.

“Our focus is to build on its legacy and elevate the guest experience in a way that reflects the very best of Alabama,” Plott said. The buyers did not release specific plans for changes but stressed their emphasis on service and quality.

The investor group pointed to the resort’s long history of serving families from across the Southeast. They said keeping ownership in Alabama helps ensure decisions stay tied to the local community. The sale positions Perdido Beach Resort to continue as a major Orange Beach destination under its new Alabama led team.
