From live music performances to scenic dolphin cruises and business networking opportunities, locals and visitors alike can look forward to a range of activities. Whether it’s enjoying a laid-back evening at Lulu’s, exploring the back bays on a dolphin tour, or gathering with friends at the Flora-Bama for a special concert, the Gulf Coast is the place to be this week. Monday, October 14th - 
Brent Burns on select Monday’s is back live on stage at Lulu’s in Gulf Shores from 5-9PM. Beloved Burns brings the crowd and gets everyone up and rocking with his friendly, inviting stage presence paired with an unmatched lyrical repertoire. The official Gulf Coast Music Ambassador is a world traveling performer who continues to maintain that easygoing island time vibe wherever he goes, especially when at the beach he’s called home since the early 70s. Stop by Lulu’s and get your toes in the sand and enjoy a coastal air night with the island’s very own award-winning musician, Mr. Brent Burns. Tuesday, October 15th- 
Twice the fun with double team dolphin tours the ‘Fun Boat Dolphin Cruises.’ Guests will climb aboard one of two ships and set sail to the back bay’s for the extreme dolphin fun and facts. Once underway, expect to see various birds, sea life, island bird sanctuaries, and beautiful waterfront homes while looking for the local wild dolphin that can be seen as soon as you leave the dock or found tucked away in one of the back bays awaiting the fun boating crowd. While exploring, the experienced crew will engage and interact identifying sights seen and answering any questions. Guests are welcome to bring along a cooler with snacks and prepare to engage in water battle at some point along the ride. Prefer to stay dry and watch from inside, no problem the water blasts are completely optional. October is a great time to be on the water with cooler temps, less traffic and great sunsets.

Wednesday, October 16th - 
The Coastal Alabama Chamber of Commerce is extending an invitation to all members and guests to join them for an evening of networking, collaboration, and community building at the iconic Flora-Bama from 5-7PM. This annual multi-chamber business after hours presents an opportunity for local gulf coast business leaders, professionals, and chamber members to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen partnerships. Easily plan dinner before or after the event at one of Bama’s sister restaurants on the bayside, like the ‘Yacht Club,’ or ‘Ole River Grill,’ for a full on the line experience while meeting and networking with some of your Gulf Coast neighbors. Thursday, October 17th - Embrace the spirit of optimism while giving back to local cherished waters for ‘Evening for the Estuaries,’ a night filled with live music, delightful drinks, a delicious selection of tasty oysters with ‘Grayson Bay Oyster Company’ plus heavy hors d’oeuvres. The stunning Coastal Arts Center makes a perfect host, located on picturesque Wolf Bay, featuring inspiring works by local Gulf Coast artists. Thursday Late Night -
 Voted most likely to become famous his senior year of High School, Post Malone, now fan crazed singer, songwriter and more, proves everyone right by stepping on stage at the Wharf in Orange Beach with the F-1 Trillion Tour. The Official Post Malone After Party will be at Flora- Bama for one night only with Chandler Walters (on tour with Malone) in the Dome, an event worth continuing the evening for. Friday, October 18th - 
Explore the wild outdoors of the Gulf State Park and enjoy a small community gathering for the annual festive event, ‘Treats on the Trail.’ Each year, Coastal Resources and the city of Orange beach put together an early evening filled with sugary delights with interacting changes each year to keep it interesting. The fun will begin at the Trailhead located at the Sportsplex. The spooky adventures will follow the trail to Al’s park on the Twin Bridges with candy grabbing opportunities and possible spooks all along the way. Once the family arrives at AL’s, there will be the usual obstacles for the kids to play and entertain as well as various games, smores and more. Kids and parents are encouraged to come costume ready and don’t forget a bag for all the treats where there will be no candy left unturned.

Saturday, October 19th - 
The spirit of the month is in full swing this weekend, sprouting first at Graham Creek Nature Preserve for a ‘Pumpkin Play Day.’ Fun for the whole family begins at 10AM at the ‘Outdoor Classroom’ aka the playground area. There will be carnival games and special truck visits from the local firehouse and Kona Ice. Guests are welcome to wear costumes and bring a candy bucket or bag to fill up.

Saturday evening Festivities for all ages - The
 ‘Haunted Hustle’ is flying over to Gulf Place Public Beach for a spooky good time on the eve from 6-9PM. Join in for costume bragging rights, a very haunted 5K, fun run, and witches on wheels bike parade, all while benefiting the Dolphin Foundation for Education and Arts. Sunday, October 20th- 
Miss Madison, the admired land boat is geared up and decked out with great Halloween photo opportunities at Zeke’s entrance just in time for the season. Tracking fish with sonar has been available to the public since 1948, when the famous Furuno brothers introduced the product in their native Japan. A 'salty' charter captain might add that it was Lowrance that brought it to the U.S. fishing market. But whomever you credit, NOAA has now combined it with artificial intelligence (AI) to provide better chart mapping and even fish count locations of fish in the gulf. The results could impact local fishing seasons in the future.

It’s Saturday morning, the second day of the 6A Section 1 Track Meet at Saraland High School. Coach Brewer has piloted the Dolphins bus to this place several times this season, but today a thick, milky fog has engulfed the panorama, limiting the vision of what’s ahead, save for head coach Jason Hill. He’s studied today’s upcoming events and is hopeful for the upset.

A decorated urn containing human ashes washed up on Gulf Shores beach this past week, starting a mystery that local police have now solved. The container was discovered by people walking along the shore on West Beach on April 17. The urn had no name or identification on the outside.
