Orange Beach, Ala. — (GSN) — Orange Beach leaders are preparing to evaluate major community updates and shift their focus to long-term stewardship of local parks and essential municipal guidelines during the morning work session. The council will review comprehensive facility plans to optimize city assets and support ongoing revitalization of public spaces across the island.


The work session meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug 18, 2026, at 11 AM in the City Hall South Conference Room.


In addition to community infrastructure, council members will evaluate governance issues, including elected officials' compensation, municipal property use, and enhanced public safety technology.


During the work session, the council will also discuss:


  • An overview of current Parks and Recreation facilities.
  • A status update regarding the city's recreation campus.
  • Reviews concerning Mayor and Council salaries.
  • A proposed co-host and responsible party ordinance.
  • An equipment request from the Police Department regarding drone technology.
  • A safety request for a pedestrian crosswalk.
  • Future plans and usage options for the Old Finance Building.
  • A facility request involving the Orange Beach Event Center.
  • Proposed regulations surrounding an E-Bike ordinance.
  • A proposal regarding the donation of city promotional items.
  • Additional topics and items are slated for upcoming council meeting agendas.
  • Entering an executive session to discuss real property matters, including the potential purchase, sale, exchange, lease, or market valuation of real estate.
