Orange Beach Makos Softball Knock Off #5 Team In Nation

In a thrilling match-up on the softball field, the #7 nationally ranked Orange Beach Makos Girls Softball Team secured a significant victory against the #5 ranked Pace Patriots last night in a 4 to 2 win at home. Both teams have shown exceptional skill and competitive spirit coming into last night’s game.


K.G. Favors lead the pitching attack with a 2.0 ERA, keeping the Pace Patriots off the bases. Daigle Wilson was outstanding in the field with 2 put-outs and 3 assist of her 5 total fielding chances. Hodo, Wilson, Revette, King and Robertson all contributed at the plate.


The Orange Beach Makos, also ranked first in Alabama Division 4A, have been having a standout season, with sophomore Ava Hodo leading the team with an impressive .500 batting average and being a key player in their offensive lineup. The team's overall performance has been remarkable, with a team batting average of .373 and a slugging percentage that is 47% higher than the national average, showcasing their ability to outshine their competition on a national scale.


This victory over the Pace Patriots not only adds to the Makos' impressive season record but also cements their status as one of the teams to watch this season. Their performance on the field reflects the hard work, dedication, and talent of the players and coaching staff, making them a formidable force in high school softball.
