Orange Beach To Host K9 Demonstration Night

Law enforcement from regional locations will participate

Local residents will soon have the chance to see some of the region’s top law enforcement officers in action during a special community event. The Orange Beach Police Department is inviting families to attend a K9 Demonstration Night during the 2026 USPCA Region 1 K9 Trials. The event will showcase how law enforcement officers and their K9 partners work together to keep communities safe. Admission is free and open to the public.

The demonstration will take place on Wednesday, February 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the new Makos Stadium, 23908 Canal Road, Orange Beach, Alabama. The state-of-the-art stadium will host a night of exciting displays featuring K9 teams from across Florida, South Alabama, and South Georgia.

Visitors can expect to see live police demonstrations, including mock traffic stops and detection work, highlighting the precision and discipline of these highly trained dogs. The Orange Beach Police Department describes the evening as both “family-friendly” and “educational,” encouraging residents of all ages to attend.

In addition to the live demonstrations, the event will feature a bike-and-helmet giveaway, with prizes including a boys’ bike and helmet and a girls’ bike and helmet. Attendees must be present to win. Organizers hope the giveaways and interactive displays will encourage more families to come out and learn about the important role K9 units play in law enforcement.

Local officials say the evening will bring together officers, residents, and visitors in a relaxed setting, fostering stronger relationships between the community and law enforcement. The department shared, “We look forward to seeing you there!”, emphasizing that engagement and community trust are at the heart of the event.

The 2026 USPCA Region 1 K9 Trials showcase the dedication and training of top-tier police K9 teams, giving attendees an up-close look at their skills. With free admission and family appeal, the event aims to be one of the year's most talked-about community gatherings.
