Proctor's Catch Was Heaviest At Alabama But Not The Nation

Kayden Procter made history in Bama vs. Georgia Game

No matter which college team you pull the highlight of the weekend was Kayden Proctor's catch in the Alabama vs. Georgia game. The fact that Bama beat the Dawgs was almost secondary to seeing the 6' 7", 366 lb. Offensive Lineman make a vital catch and run for 11 yards.

While he did not score he did set-up Ty Simpson to score on the drive. This had TV fans around the nation stating this had to be the largest player in college football to catch and run after a pass. Those statisticians would be wrong.

The largest player in Division 1 College Football to catch a pass was Desmond Watson of Florida Gators who weighed in over 460 pounds. "Big Dez" played defense for the Gators (2021-2024) and currently is the nose guard for Tampa in the NFL.

Imagine that just the day before, CBS Sports’ Josh Edwards dissected his game and claimed he’d need to return for a fourth year to realize any pro dreams, calling him the “Most disappointing NFL Draft prospect in college football” this season, according to Sporting News.

The Alabama-Georgia historical rivalry began with the first matchup in 1895, with Georgia winning that initial game. Alabama leads the all-time series 43-26-4. In the last 11 years Georgia has only won once, the year they captured the National Championship.

Here is the full breakdown of the scores:

  • 2025: Alabama 24, Georgia 21
  • 2024: Alabama 41, Georgia 34
  • 2023: Alabama 27, Georgia 24 (SEC Championship)
  • 2022: Georgia 33, Alabama 18 (National Championship)
  • 2021: Alabama 41, Georgia 24 (SEC Championship)
  • 2020: Alabama 41, Georgia 24
  • 2019: No game played
  • 2018: Alabama 35, Georgia 28 (SEC Championship)
  • 2017: Alabama 26, Georgia 23 (National Championship)
  • 2016: No game played
  • 2015: Alabama 38, Georgia 10
  • 2014: No game played
