The holiday season is supercharged this weekend with events from the Flora-Bama Santa Drop, LuLu's Lighted Boat Parade and the Holly Days on Main at the Wharf! The celebrations of Christmas have begun.

FLORA-BAMA SANTA DROP

Saturday, December 9th, 2023 - 11am to 2pm

We kick-off the Christmas holidays with the annual Santa Drop here at the World Famous Flora-Bama! You don't need to pay $20 to take a picture with Santa at the mall... see Santa skydive onto our white sandy beaches then jump in line in the Tent for Santa pics! It doesn’t matter how old you are, you can still sit on Santa’s lap and ask for whatever you want. Beginning at 11AM, prior to Santa's arrival at 12:30PM, there are kids crafts, games, live music featuring holiday tunes for the kiddos, face painting, juice and sweet treats - best of all, it's all FREE!

HOLLY DAYS ON MAIN

Saturday & Sunday, December 9 - 10, 2023

The Holly Days on Main Festival, presented by South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, is returning to Coastal Alabama. When it comes to Christmas, we do it right in paradise! The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama for two days is filled with tons of fun to get you in the Christmas spirit, including...

  • Fine arts, retail, and arts & crafts vendors lining up and down Main Street with a wide variety of gift ideas.
  • The Santa Pub Crawl is set to return to The Wharf on the evening of December 9th and raises money for Toys Fot Tots

LULU'S LIGHTED BOAT PARADE

Saturday, December 9th, 2023 - Starts At Dusk

We do parades a bit differently on the coast. You can see the long-standing tradition of local boat owners decorating their vessels then parading down the Intercoastal Waterway. Get to LuLu's and grab a great seat (and food) or find a spot between there and the Wharf.

Tracking fish with sonar has been available to the public since 1948, when the famous Furuno brothers introduced the product in their native Japan. A 'salty' charter captain might add that it was Lowrance that brought it to the U.S. fishing market. But whomever you credit, NOAA has now combined it with artificial intelligence (AI) to provide better chart mapping and even fish count locations of fish in the gulf. The results could impact local fishing seasons in the future.

It’s Saturday morning, the second day of the 6A Section 1 Track Meet at Saraland High School. Coach Brewer has piloted the Dolphins bus to this place several times this season, but today a thick, milky fog has engulfed the panorama, limiting the vision of what’s ahead, save for head coach Jason Hill. He’s studied today’s upcoming events and is hopeful for the upset.
