Severe weather hit the Gulf Coast for past 24 hours
Some members of the Alabama coastal region are cleaning up this morning. From a water spout in Orange Beach, to more than four inches of rain and even a small tornado in Elberta...Sunday was an eventful weather day for many. The good news is that no injuries were reported in South Baldwin County.
The National Weather Service in Mobile reported some flash flooding but is calling for Monday to be calmer with a high temperature of less than 80 degrees.
Not everyone escaped the storm's wrath. At approximately 11pm on Sunday night the residents of Elberta reported a tornado in the area. Most of the damage appears to be concentrated around Woerner Road and south. Branches, trees and sheet metal appear to have been the worst of the damage.
The forecast calls for a calm and cool weekend as Halloween weekend approaches. Rip currents are still active in gulf waters.
The currents of the Gulf are the areas most dangerous part of nature. Please keep in mind that this phenomenon can occur during all parts of the year and swimmers should never be alone.
