GSPD respond to spring break nuisances

Gulf Shores News Spring Break

In an age of so much technology you might think some young students would have used ChatGPT, Gemini or any other of the services to ask "Where is a good beach town to have an underage party for drinking during spring break?" The automated response might have been Daytona or Panama City Beach, but it certainly would not have been Gulf Shores.

On Friday, March 27, 2026, The Gulf Shores Police Department published the following press release:

Department Statement:

The Gulf Shores Police Department remains committed to maintaining a safe environment for both residents and visitors. Large, unsupervised gatherings involving underage drinking create significant safety risks, strain public resources, and disrupt the peace of surrounding neighborhoods. These behaviors violate state law and will be addressed promptly and consistently.

Our message has not changed: everyone is welcome to enjoy our beautiful beaches and the atmosphere Gulf Shores offers. At the same time, our community, elected leaders, and the police department maintain a zero‑tolerance stance toward conduct that interferes with others’ ability to safely enjoy themselves.

Respect for the law, for private property, and for fellow visitors is essential to keeping Gulf Shores a safe and enjoyable destination.

Thank you to Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, Orange Beach Police Department and the Foley Police Department for committing the resources to assist us during spring break.
